LOW PROFILE ROOF VENTS

With low profile roof vents you receive a number of advantages over the conventional upright roof ventilators of the last century.

The conventional ventilators that stand above the roofline leave themselves open to the elements of Mother Nature, for example – above the roofline ventilators can be blown out of the roof during high wind conditions.

This leaves a substantial hole in the roof that quite often following rain cells will allow a lot of water to enter the home, which can cause damage to the roofing materials as well as cause ceilings to collapse etc.

This however is not the only shortcoming of above roof ventilators, in general many of the different types of above the roof ventilators can leak during heavy rain.  Then there are other problems that can ensue – firstly however not a problem for most of Australia, built up snow can cause leaks due to water backup under roof tiles.  What is a large problem for most of Australia is the collection of leaf and twig buildup against or even inside the ventilator, with the possibility of extreme heat and ensuing bush fires.

So there you have it above the roofline ventilators have the disadvantage for the possibility of being blown out by high winds and the follow on circumstances, leaking, accumulation of debris and entry of embers with bush fire extremes.

SO WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF LOW PROFILE ROOF VENTS

Very low profile roof vents will ward off the extremes of Mother Nature, they will not blow out, will not leak and generally being aerodynamically designed will have the best advantages in extreme heat and bush fire ember attack conditions.
